Had the pencil drawing in my pad forever, so I decided to finish this up. I tried to color it before, but the colors wouldn't go for it. Tried again today, and it looks halfway decent now. Hooray.
This is the afterproduct of reading way too many Naruto fanfics. And not in a bad way. Many of them shed light onto Naruto's childhood, and I'm surprised that nobody has touched onto this particular subject. Why exactly does Naruto have such a good relationship with the Ichiraku Ramen stand's owner and daughter? What could have happened to make Naruto so fond of ramen?
Heck, I might even write my own fanfic for this. The caption of this drawing is something like, "You'll give me ramen, oji-san?" I imagined that if somebody offered to give anything to the poor boy, he would probably burst into tears. And thus this. Well... at least I think it's a nice story.
Coloring was really simple and really messy. Used a lot of multiply. Ran it through the texturizer once to make it a little bit more interesting.
FULL VIEW, PLEASE! It looks really bad in thumbnail.
A very dear and sweet pic and love the soft shades of color. Also love your explanation in the artists comments.
Have read tons of fics but I haven't read too many fics that go into detail into his early childhood. Do you have any that really touched you that you could recommend?
Awwwwwww *hugs Naruto* Poor guy. I never thought about that. I like the lighting on this n_n

I agree completely, he'd most likely burst into tears after receiving a bowl of ramen. For us, it's a simple gesture, for him, it's a token of acceptance; which he strives to receive.
Um... I am thinking of a specific one called something like "In the Way of the Apartment Manager", which has this retired kunoichi who takes Naruto in and lets him rent an apartment. It has a sequel with Sasuke in the same building, but I'm not sure of the addresses.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
