Yah, this piece was based on yet another fanfic: Like Father Like Son, by Author-chan. Seriously, a really great story. All the humor, even after Kenshin and Kaoru die. Basically, Kenshin would have liked to know his son Kenji better, so the Shinigami made him get reincarnated as his son's second son, who he named Kenichi. And the story goes on...
This picture may look really weird as you look at the one face, but it is kind of uneven because one side is smaller than the other, and one eye is bigger than the other, and one's hair is longer than the other. Intended purpose. The younger side is Kenichi, and the older side (as you can tell by the cross-shaped scar, longer hair, and familiar red/pink gi) is Kenshin. If you take the picture and fold it in half so you can look at each side separately, they won't look so strange.
I'm very happy with this picture since I drew it in such a short span of time. Sketched it out yesterday before bed, and colored it today inbetween classes and at home. Only spent about 3 hours on it!
Used my new pencils that I got! Finally, I have better color! Problem is, I didn't have a new skin-colored pencil, so I had to still rely on my old Craola peach and tan. But, some way, somehow, even the skin tone showed up like it does in real life here! Hallelujiah!
Made first with regular HB pencil, then inked with black ballpoint pen and colored with Crayola colored pencils, crayons, and those new fancy pencils that I dunno what they're called.
Prisma-color maybe? I dunno, thats the only kinda good pencils I know of... I still use crayola.
I personally really like the hair layers, and the different colors that are in it.
3 hours? Jeez... takes me months to finish stuff, since I work for a bit... stop for a month, work for a bit, stop for two months, work for bit, work a week later... XD Procrasinator I am...
I LOVE "Like Father, Like Son", and I also really love how you did his hair!! Like the little touch of pink/red/blush on "their" cheeks; I'm sure A-chan-san will really like this. =]
I hope so! That is one great fic... but A-chan hasn't replied my review saying that I want to do a piece of fanart yet, and I'm already done. Oh, well, I send her a deviant note! Hope she can get it right away.
Thank you for your praise! Yep, I enjoyed adding the little blush, because it enhances the 'innocent' look to both their faces. Also, my friend said that the hair looked like it was on fire, but I didn't care. Hair on fire = good.

Nope, I know they're not Prismacolor. Something else... I could just go into the other room and look at it, but I'm too lazy.
I just try and finish a drawing while I want to work on it. Every night, I come up with new sketches, and I try and finish up my old pictures before I get obsessed with working on the new one.
