This is Kanda Yuu from D. Gray-man. This manga totally rocks! I recommend it to any fans of FMA!
I actually copied it mostly free-hand from a page of the second volume of D. Gray-man, when Kanda first uses his sword, Mugen, against the akuma. It was just such a great action shot that I couldn't pass it up! I made it more detailed, and I put all te dramatic-looking lines around it. I still didn't add his eyes, though. I think it would have ruined it a bit, so I just left it like this. Please tell me you know this is a guy. Kanda has really long hair, but he really won't look like a girl if he didn't have it. HE's fun to draw because it's hard to make him look like a guy with all that hair. The part that took the most time was actually the action-y lines around it, not the figure himself. Surprising. This was made in pencil and then inked and colored in black ballpoint pen. |
